Harley has announced that since the company surpassed the milestone of 1 million QAM units shipped in August 2010, it has now shipped over 2 million QAM units to cable service providers worldwide, solidifying its leading position in the edge QAM market.
Harmonic's Edge QAM technology provides high-quality services to over 7 million cable TV subscribers worldwide, including VOD, broadcast, switched digital video, modular cable modem terminal systems, and cable IPTV services. Harmonic's NSG Edge QAM has been adopted by 20 of the largest multi-system operators in the United States, as well as Tier-1 MSOs in Europe and Asia.
The latest generation of Harmonic's Edge QAM—NSG 9000 HectoQAM is the first universal edge QAM solution, offering up to 648 QAMs in a 2RU chassis. In addition to its high density, HectoQAM incorporates significantly improved efficiency and user-friendly technologies, including Harmonic's EQAM Virtualization software technology and frequency agility that allows for flexible placement of QAM frequencies in the spectrum.
