Stability and flexibility
Amethyst III offers GigE or ASI interfaces, suitable for any type of architecture from widely deployed ASI headends to new IP networks. This switch is equipped with dual power supplies/plugs to ensure service availability, and employs an intelligent configurable GigE and ASI interface diversion mechanism to guarantee stable service transmission.
Highly Configurable Testing
Amethyst III conducts extensive configurable testing to monitor the health of input content, supporting TR 101 290 testing (priority levels 1/2/3) to provide a comprehensive health check for your digital DVB network. The device also supports testing and monitoring modes, offering you the same complete information as in an ATSC environment.
Delay Compensation Feature
Amethyst III can simultaneously analyze delayed input video streams (ranging from several microseconds to several seconds). If a particular input video stream is detected to have a fault, the device can compensate for the time difference and seamlessly switch to another fault-free video stream without disrupting the end user.
Designed for Terrestrial Networks
Amethyst III works in conjunction with Harmonic's NetProcessor™ 9030/40 multiplexers and video processing to enable seamless switching of DVB-T/T2 SFN terrestrial networks. Amethyst III retains the frame structure for DVB-T signals from the NetProcessor SFN adapter and can also reorder the transport streams from the NetProcessor T2 gateway.
Configuration and Monitoring
Amethyst III is equipped with a 10/100 T segment port for control and monitoring. The device allows for remote monitoring and configuration via any standard web browser, providing a complete display of switch configurations, as well as simple and intuitive input/output status information, fault log data, and transmission rate visuals.
