The Asian News International (ANI) is South Asia's leading multimedia news agency, with over 100 branches in India, South Asia, and major cities worldwide. ANI has been using LiveU's equipment and technology for over a decade, and this year expanded its coverage and reporting in India through the LU800, LU600 encoders, and the smartphone application LU-Smart. LiveU played a crucial role in ANI's live reporting strategy for the 2024 Indian general elections.
The election process in India is lengthy, with foundational preparations starting months in advance. ANI planned one of the most comprehensive election coverage efforts in history, providing timely content such as political rallies, interviews with candidates and politicians, and breaking news. Given India's complex terrain, poor network conditions in remote areas, and unpredictable weather, the ANI and LiveU teams worked together to successfully deliver real-time reporting to the world.
Before the elections, ANI deployed LiveU equipment across various locations in India to quickly send staff to both central and remote areas to report on the election situation. ANI's staff are very familiar with operating LiveU equipment, allowing them to easily set up and start live broadcasts at any time. Live video is transmitted to headquarters for production and is broadcast live to leading broadcasters in India and globally on traditional television and digital platforms. LiveU's long-term partner in India, Lamhas, also provided strong support.
ANIBy effectively deploying and utilizing LiveU solutions, audiences across India and the globe were able to see high-quality election coverage delivered in real-time. During this period, LiveU equipment produced hundreds of hours of video, while the news team successfully reported on everything from political rallies to breaking news in any network environment. Moving forward, ANI plans to continue using LiveU products for other global coverage, including the U.S. elections.
