(NASDAQ: HLIT) today announced that HSE24 (Home Shopping Europe), a "TV shopping" network in Germany since 1995, has adopted Harmonic's production, storage, and broadcast platform for multiple home shopping networks. The award-winning Harmonic Spectrum™ media server system provides continuous broadcasting for four channels within the HSE24 network, while the Harmonic MediaGrid™ active storage system supports real-time storage and editing for post-production workflows.

In its 16-year history, HSE24 has served 7.5 million shoppers. Today, the network offers 400,000 households - 360,000 in Germany, 300,000 in Austria, and 100,000 in Switzerland. The company's Spectrum server system processes the main channel of the HSE24 network, as well as its digital specialty channels, HSE24 Trend and HSE24 Extra, along with the newly launched channel, HSE24 Italy. The operation of the HSE24 server system is combined with AVECO automation, allowing users to control the network server from anywhere.
HSE24 utilizes the MediaGrid central storage system, which includes content for two channels for 19 hours each day, and supports integration with Final Cut Pro® systems. Edited files can be loaded into Final Cut Pro for editing, and after post-production is completed, new files are quickly saved for playback.
