Harmonic ViBE® CP3000 (formerly known as Ellipse® 3000) is the industry's most cost-effective acquisition encoder suitable for high-end Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) and live sports broadcasting applications. It features a compact design, low procurement costs, and a top-tier level of functionality integration, delivering exceptional video quality and ease of use.
The innovative ViBE CP3000 product series includes the first DSNG encoder with an integrated broadcast satellite modulator, supporting both DVB-S2X and DVB-CID standards, as well as internet-based transmission that meets broadcast quality standards. The encoder utilizes Harmonic's industry-leading compression technology and flexible system architecture, making it suitable for all critical acquisition applications. With support for multiple formats, various codecs, low latency, and optional integrated modulators, the ViBE compression platform is ideal for both DSNG and fixed acquisition. Its compact design and plug-and-play deployment help reduce overall costs.
The ViBE CP3000 encoder supports all 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 8 or 10-bit sampling for standard definition and high definition, using MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC encoding methods. The encoder is fully firmware upgradable, providing a smooth and cost-effective upgrade path from MPEG-2 SD 4:2:0 8-bit to AVC HD 4:2:2 10-bit compression schemes, making it the most versatile and comprehensive capture encoder available. The 3G SDI input enables encoding of high-definition content with resolutions up to 1080p60.
The compact and durable Ellipse 3000 encoder, only 1 RU in size, is perfectly suited for DSNG vehicles, long-distance transmission, and flyaway packages operating in C, Ku, or Ka bands. There are four modes available to enable precise adaptation for system deployment tailored to user applications:

3G SDI input, simultaneous output of IP and DVB-ASI, integrated broadcast satellite modulator, supports DVB-S/S2/S2X and DVB-CID above NIT-CID, IF and L-Band interfaces on the same board, simultaneous output of L-Band, IF, and DVB-ASI, optional dual power supply.
