The latest product in Harley's leading Electra™ series, the Electra 9200, is a multi-channel, multi-service, cost-effective encoder. As part of Harley's complete video front-end solution, this encoder supports main and secondary standard definition or high definition channels with constant bit rate (CBR) or variable bit rate (VBR) video encoded in MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 AVC. The encoder also offers high bandwidth efficiency and channel density, with each device featuring a processing module that supports up to 4 audio/video input paths.

It can detect fade/dissolve and cut transitions, and then applies the most efficient encoding strategies to deliver the highest video quality under the lowest possible bitrate conditions. The Electra 9200 further enhances the de-interlacing technology, providing progressive scan broadcasting and multi-screen profiles.
Built-in secondary broadcast-level encoding output
Electra 9200It has the capability to encode dual channels simultaneously from the same video input. The second channel can encode the main channel's output after transformation, or provide simultaneous broadcasting in high and standard definition or mixed formats (MPEG-2 and H.264 for each channel). It supports variable bitrate (VBR) encoding for the main channel and constant bitrate (CBR) encoding for the backup channel.
Built-in Video Router
The flexible internal video router can provide any SDI input or compressed source to any Electra 9200 processing module, reducing system complexity and enhancing operational flexibility.

High-quality comprehensive decoding optional features
The FLEX®FLEXThe dual decoding optional module provides high flexibility in audio and video decoding capabilities for the Electra and ION encoders. One FLEX module can decode up to two SD or HD 4:2:0 H.264 or MPEG-2 input channels, eliminating dependence on input formats. FLEX is capable of providing pre-compressed video for the Electra or ION encoders while supporting ASI and IP inputs.
Comprehensive audio tools
Electra 9200Supports embedded audio, capable of encoding up to 3 MPEG-1 Layer II audio stereo pairs (or a single multichannel encoding), and can pass through Dolby Digital (AC-3), Dolby Digital+ (E-AC-3), and Dolby E. With a firmware upgrade, it can encode AC-3 and AAC/HE-AAC. Optional audio input modules (AHC-RAC, AHC-561) can expand the functionality and density of the Electra 9200, addressing various audio processing needs, including Dolby E transcoding and AC-3 to E-AC-3 transcoding.
