Introduction to the Control Principles of Harley ProStream X Web

Harmonic ProStream X is a software-based audio and video stream processing and gateway product. It provides top-tier high-performance stream processing primarily for transmission applications such as broadcasting, cable, satellite, terrestrial, IPTV, and OTT. Benefiting from various advanced video processing features, it offers essential functionalities including multiplexing, scrambling, splicing, and power failover. It has a wide market share in critical transmission and broadcasting fields, with many users praising its stability and ease of use. Today, we will introduce the web control principles of this device.

Prerequisites: Log in to the device using a web browser and authenticate with a username and password.

After wiring and setting up the ProStream X in the network, you can configure, set up, and monitor the device through the web client. The web client reads data from the device and displays it in a user interface (UI) known as the Standalone GUI (SAG).

Once the interface is opened, you will see 10 areas where you can set up or query according to your business needs.

Core setup concept: "Map" the physical interfaces (panels) of the device to your actual business, from any input to any output. The intermediate logical output layer corresponds to your "logical" processing.

Example: You input a digital service with SERVICE ID=100 from port 5 of the first ASI card, which undergoes multiplexing, scrambling, and PID mapping, and adds new SI information before outputting from port 1 of the second ASI card. You will go through the following steps:

1. Define physical interfaces to logical interfaces: You will define port 5 of the first ASI card as a logical input interface.

2. Select the input service: You will select the service with SERVICE ID=100 and analyze its structure.

3. Establish logical output: You will choose a logical output and determine its attributes: bandwidth, type, etc.

4. Establish multiplexing and other processing: You will drag the selected program to the logical output port, modify the PID as per your business requirements, perform scrambling, and other operations.

5. Associate the logical output to the physical interface: You will associate port 1 of the second ASI card with this logical output.

6. Check the validity and reliability of the configuration.
