SmarDTV has launched a dual-slot CableCARD™ and DVB Common Interface chip for use in digital TV receivers. It is suitable for OpenCable™ or Common Interface single-slot or dual-slot designs. The CIMaX™ SP2HF is designed for high-frequency heads and MPEG decoding layers, supporting both serial and parallel bitstream interfaces; it also supports a power-saving standby mode; PQFP 128 package.
The CIMaX™ SP2HF is fully compatible with the original CIMaX™ SP2L in terms of pin configuration, current, and driver software. No modifications are required on motherboards that originally used the CIMaX™ SP2L.
The CIMaX™ SP2HF has also enhanced its environmental specifications, with new requirements that include compliance with ROHS standards and the exclusion of harmful substances such as chlorine, bromine, and halogens.
