Harris Corporation's MAXLink™ product line is a range of optical transmitters and amplifiers designed for 1550nm transmission network applications. The MAXLink system provides an economical solution for various network applications and structures, including long-distance transmission that is not achievable with 1310nm transmitters, and fiber-dense network architectures that rely on high-power optical amplifiers. Additionally, this system is well-suited for new and future network architectures, such as redundant ring networks, broadcast transmission, and interconnections in broadband networks. The Harris MAXLink product line includes 1-RU 19” rack-mounted transmission equipment, such as 1550nm broadcast transmitters, erbium-doped fiber amplifiers, and optical switches. The standard 1-RU 19” design saves data center space and operational costs, as it does not require additional platforms or power supplies. The high-performance HLT7706R/7806R transmitters are designed for ultra-long-haul and distribution applications, capable of being amplified and relayed by optical amplifiers. In ultra-long-haul applications, a key component of the MAXLink system is the Link Extender (HLE). The HLE enables push-pull transmission over two optical fibers, thereby improving CNR by at least 3dB and CSO by at least 6dB (compared to single-fiber transmission).
