Alcatel-Lucent today announced that it will assist China Telecom in expanding and upgrading its 3G network, supporting the expansion of network coverage and increasing bandwidth to meet the growing demands of mobile data users, while also preparing for future upgrades to LTE.
Alcatel-Lucent stated that China is one of the most important mobile communication markets in the world. In the second half of 2010, 43% of the global increase in mobile broadband lines occurred in China. China Telecom is also the largest CDMA 3G network operator in the world, adding over 3 million mobile users each month. They are pleased to continue enhancing services for the network construction of China Telecom.
