The IBC2013 Innovation Awards Committee announced the shortlist of 10 candidates from 9 countries on June 3. The winners will be revealed at the IBC Awards Ceremony on September 15.

Content Creation Category:

Fox Sports Australia: In collaboration with Globecast, developed a helmet-mounted camera for cricket batsmen and wicketkeepers, utilizing wireless HDMI.

BBC: 8,000 miles, 70 days of the Olympic Torch Relay broadcast across the UK.

ITV: Collaborating with Adobe on its "Story" project to use collaborative tools from two prime-time soap operas for script development, shot planning, and other tasks.

New Zealand's Park Road Post Production Company: In collaboration with its technical partner SGO, produced the first high frame rate, high dynamic range 3D mainstream film "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey."

Slovenia T-2: Developed an IPTV service that can be accessed on smartphones, web set-top boxes, computers, and Android and iOS mobile devices.

RTE, the national broadcaster of Ireland, has developed a file-based facility that allows users to create and control their own automated workflows in collaboration with TMD.

Belgium's RTBF and partners Perfect Memory and Memnon: developed the GEMS system, which enables broadcasters to perform semantic searches, automatic speech-to-text conversion, natural language processing, and open data connections.

German cable company Ziggo: Aims to offer advanced interactive services without the need for new set-top boxes. Technical partners include ActiveVideo, Seachange, Samsung, Humax, Unitid, Webadvance.

- NHK: In collaboration with NTT, Fujitsu, and Juniper Networks, developed a next-generation terrestrial HD television transmission platform using MPLS.

· Spain's Abertis Telecom: Collaborating with Harmonic and Nagra to develop a cloud-based multi-screen delivery platform that supports MPEG-DASH.
