ATEME collaborates with STI Telecom to deliver a high-definition satellite television distribution platform.

São Paulo, April 3rd, 2012

ATEME and STI Telecom announced today the successful delivery of a turnkey Rede Record high-definition television distribution platform. In São Paulo, a fully redundant satellite uplink system has been integrated by STI Telecom with ATEME's Kyrion encoders and decoders. It broadcasts free HD coverage across Brazil via One's C2 satellite. This is just one of Rede Record's series of projects aimed at accelerating their high-definition television service coverage across all states and cities in Brazil.

"This satellite uplink was designed by our engineering team, allowing Rede Record to broadcast high-definition television signals while also accommodating ground UHF digital repeaters for Rede Record's audience in rural Brazil. José Marcelo Amaral, Chief Technology Officer of Rede Record, explained."

"We have been looking for strong partners, and the rich experience of both ATEME and STL Telecom in DVB and ISDBT was a decisive factor in our choice," added Mr. Amaral.

Raul Rivera, the U.S. Sales Director of ATEME in Latin America, said: "This is the first commercial deployment of HD TV recording-SAT, and we are excited to be part of this initiative that delivers high-quality content for free to rural communities. Our partner STL Telecom truly enhances the expertise and support of our engineering team."
