ALDEA adopts ATEME's video solutions for the Pan American Games.

ALDEA Solutions, a global provider of high-quality real-time video transmission services for sports, news, and entertainment, has confirmed its selection of ATEME, a supplier of state-of-the-art H.264 encoding video contribution encoders and decoders, for the Pan American Games in Guadalajara.

ATEME's contribution to the selection and combination of equipment emphasizes quality, flexibility, support, and value, and was deployed at the Pan American Games in October 2011, showcasing its ability to handle high throughput levels, allowing for error-free timing. The Pan American Games is the largest multi-sport event in the world, and in 2011, it involved 6,000 athletes from 42 countries, attracting high viewership numbers.

Karen McKeown, Vice President of Marketing and Technology at ALDEA Solutions, said, “Some of our clients have already been using products from ATEME and recommended them to us. After extensive testing, we took the opportunity to deploy the actual game encoder in Guadalajara. During peak times, the experience with ATEME's encoders and decoders was smooth.” Now that the Pan American Games are over, McKeown confirmed that ALDEA made the right choice in partnering with ATEME.

ATEME, based near Paris, France, provides video contribution and distribution equipment, and has made significant inroads against larger competitors over the past two years with a series of successes. The company is now one of the key players in encoding, increasingly winning major contracts, particularly in ALDEA solutions.
