Harmonic, a company based in the United States, has successfully developed audio processing capabilities based on the ProStream-1000 stream processing platform in conjunction with the ACE transcoding card. The audio processing features include audio transcoding and volume normalization, which will be officially released in software versions throughout 2012.
The audio transcoding feature of ACE is implemented based on the original video transcoding, utilizing the remaining processing capacity of the ACE card for audio signal transcoding. The powerful hardware foundation combined with advanced software processing achieves the maximum transcoding performance of two audio PIDs per video without affecting video transcoding performance.
