Israel's NovelSAT NS3 Wins WTA Annual Technology Award

Israel's NovelSat, a strategic partner of Oneband and a supplier of next-generation satellite communication modulation standards, has announced that it has received the "Best Technology of the Year" award from the World Teleport Association (WTA) for its NS3 satellite modulation technology. This award recognizes outstanding achievements in the fields of operation, development, and technology, significantly impacting the satellite industry. The announcement was made on March 13, 2012, at the Washington Exhibition and Conference. The WTA honor for "Technology of the Year" acknowledges exceptional accomplishments that provide benefits to operators in terms of cost reduction, efficiency improvement, new functionalities, or entry into new market forms.
NS3 is a third-generation satellite communication bandwidth optimization technology that employs sophisticated algorithms for spectral efficiency, increasing DVB-S2 satellite capacity by over 20% to 78%, delivering the fastest data transmission rates in the world. This groundbreaking technology enables satellite users to reduce costs while enhancing capacity, video quality, and data throughput. Built on a solid foundation of DVB-S2, NS3 is fully backward compatible with DVB-S and DVB-S2. The technology can achieve the same throughput using antennas that are 35% smaller, significantly expanding the satellite footprint.

"We are very honored to receive this major recognition for our NS3 technology from WTA," said Itzik Wulkan, CEO of NovelSat. "We see this award as a highlight of a very successful year for us, culminating in over 100 ground station trials with major broadcasters around the world."
