The advanced AZ110 satellite modulator is designed to enhance broadcast quality, DSNG, and satellite distribution applications, fully compliant with DVB standards. Depending on the application, the AZ110 can be used in conjunction with set-top boxes, professional IRDs, or satellite demodulators (such as the AZ910).
In its default configuration, the AZ110 can transmit MPEG transport streams in DVB-S, DVB-DSNG, or DVB-S2 mode. The AZ110 allows for automatic or manual switching between two ASI inputs and features two ASI monitoring output ports. Additionally, an optical ASI interface can be added as an option. The BISS option can scramble a single stream or multiple streams.

Considering IP solutions, the AZ110's DualFlow feature (ASI + Ethernet) enables broadcasting equipment to support the following functionalities:
- Transmit two transport streams in DVB-S2 Multistream mode (via the second ASI input).
- Access IP transport streams carried over RTP or UDP protocols (via a GbE input). The IP layer is removed by the modulator before transmission.
- Synchronize the transmission of IP services (file transfer, VoIP, TCP services…) and transport streams. In this case, the modulator encapsulates IP data using the XPE protocol.
- Choose to transmit either IP services or transport streams. In this case, the modulator encapsulates IP data using either the XPE or MPE protocol.
- Quality of Service (QoS) assurance while maintaining absolute priority for ASI data streams.
When multiple transport streams and/or IP services are transmitted synchronously, the Variable Coding and Modulation (VCM) option allows each QoS or data stream to be modulated according to its own parameters.
At the output of the modulator, the L-band interface outputs the signal. IF and RF bands, as well as BUC power and reference frequency, can be selected in the configuration options, providing a compact and cost-effective solution.
This modulator features outstanding performance and bandwidth efficiency. When enabled, the unique linear and nonlinear pre-distortion function Equalinktm can increase link margin by up to
2.5dB, truly maximizing the efficiency of high-order modulation schemes (such as 16 and 32 APSK).
