On the morning of November 16, the 12th Sichuan TV Festival officially opened at the Chengdu New International Convention and Exhibition Center. During this year's festival, Li Chuan, the director of Chengdu Radio and Television Station, stated in an exclusive interview with reporters that in today's diversified media competition landscape, traditional media and new media are not isolated. Traditional media, such as television, must be bold in trying and innovating; they should not only develop new media themselves but also collaborate more with video websites and other new media to achieve a win-win situation. "Television media must also venture into new media, as new media will undoubtedly be a development direction and a new growth point for television media in the future!"
Li Chuan stated that as a new public service communication entity aimed at the Chengdu area, Chengdu Radio and Television Station has consistently upheld and leveraged the unique advantages of urban broadcasting. Through flexible and diverse program formats, as well as vibrant interactions between online programs and offline activities, it has established close communication and engagement with the audience in Chengdu. This irreplaceable proximity and relevance of the satellite television station have led Chengdu Radio and Television Station to create a number of highly influential brand programs, such as "Tonight 800," "This is Chengdu," "Traffic Lights," and "Real Life," which comprehensively impact the economic and social development of the Chengdu region and the daily lives of its residents in areas such as current affairs and livelihood news, variety shows, and lifestyle services. "However, in recent years, the rapid development of new media has significantly impacted traditional media such as newspapers, television, and radio. Television media is also a technical medium; it must innovate boldly and expand into new fields to find new pathways!"
Li Chuan stated that Chengdu Radio and Television Station, as a local television station, has the deepest understanding of the city, making it very grounded. The proximity, relevance, and activity of its programs are very strong, which is something that new media currently cannot match. However, in recent years, Chengdu TV has kept pace with technological advancements, continuously updating its communication methods and expanding its influence. It fully utilizes various high-tech means to explore new media fields such as the internet, mobile terminals, and IPTV, constantly enhancing communication speed, strengthening the sense of presence in news reporting, and innovating various forms of expression. Additionally, Chengdu TV is also fully committed to expanding market space, accelerating the integration of commercial and performing arts industries with various media, leveraging the marketing platform function of television media, and extending the broadcast and television industry chain.
Li Chuan also revealed that on New Year's Day 2014, various channels under Chengdu Television would undergo a complete upgrade and revamp, launching a series of entertainment programs that are highly interactive and appealing to the public. In addition, the station has established a dedicated department responsible for the comprehensive packaging, marketing, and promotion of its hosts, aiming to cultivate a group of well-known personalities and hosts similar to those from Hunan TV and Zhejiang TV, allowing local television hosts from Sichuan to gain national recognition.
