Live Encoding & Remote Production

LiveU, a pioneer in portable wireless video backpack solutions, will showcase its enhanced LU60 video uplink series at the 2011 NAB Show in Las Vegas (Booth SU8808). This series achieves sub-second latency and outstanding resilience with multiple bonded 4G/3G connections. With ultra-low latency, LiveU's powerful broadcast-quality video uplink provides customers with a cost-effective alternative to satellite solutions for live two-way interviews on location.

The concept of this solution is to utilize the existing ubiquitous 4G/5G mobile networks, WiFi hotspots, and the internet for live audio and video transmission during on-site reporting. Thanks to the excellent coverage of 4G/5G networks, reporters can roam freely indoors and outdoors without being restricted by cables or line-of-sight between two points, and they are also unaffected by weather factors such as rain fade or snow fade.

The LU700 is a hybrid video system uplink solution for vehicles and fixed locations launched by LiveU.

LiveU's LU² is the world's first modular uplink solution that optimizes the use of existing cellular networks; it can provide additional bandwidth flexibility by combining two LiveU units. With the LU² concept, operators can easily increase the number of connections, pulling up
uplink bandwidth when needed by connecting an additional LiveU unit via a standard Ethernet cable.

LiveU has launched its app solution for mobile 4G smartphone terminals—LiveU Smart; it allows users to meet their video transmission needs through fourth-generation uplink technology. LU-Smart supports WiFi and mobile network connections, including 4G/5G LTE, to achieve optimal video quality.

LiveU's new external antenna, LiveU Xtender, significantly enhances network reception for real-time video transmission, providing additional resilience and bandwidth in extreme situations, such as heavily congested areas. The LiveU Xtender adds six additional network connections, working in conjunction with LiveU's LU70 flagship 3G news gathering backpack, and covers all current 3G/4G LTE cellular network frequency bands globally. The combined LU70+Xtender solution supports up to 13 network connections.

LiveU Lite allows for the transmission of audio and video through a laptop; it provides a fast, reliable, and high-quality mobile broadcasting solution for news transmission, utilizing up to four synchronized Wi-Fi local area networks, cellular, and satellite connections. The LU-Lite software features a user-friendly interface that is easy to use, highly flexible, and supports any camera input for your hardware.

Authoritative professional-grade ultra-flexible transmission system
LiveU's new LU70 series offers authoritative cellular video live streaming uplink solutions for global broadcasters. Its second-generation proprietary internal and external antenna array provides mobility and satellite-like resilience in extremely crowded environments. The LU70 can carry up to 14 3G/4G LTE, WiMAX, and Wi-Fi wireless modems simultaneously, supporting an increasingly expanding range of cellular network frequencies worldwide.

With the increasing popularity of 3G news broadcasting systems, Israel's LiveU has launched the latest portable 3G broadcasting device, the LU40i. While ensuring high-quality audio and video transmission, it also incorporates antenna array technology that utilizes multiple cellular networks, further integrating its size and weight, making it lightweight and compact.
