XRC-3901
Modular Frame Rate Converter
NEO® XRC-3901 is a modular conversion product designed for the NEO advanced application platform, making it an ideal choice for broadcast-quality frame rate conversion. Applications utilizing frame rate conversion include satellite signals received from countries with different frame rate standards, used for program acquisition such as films, news, and weather. For live events, such as concerts or sports, the XRC-3901 is an excellent choice as a backup for non-critical sources or motion compensation frame rate converters. In production, the XRC-3901 frame rate conversion is applied in repeat systems, providing different frame rates.
"Duplicate signals." It can automatically delay embedded audio (up to 16 channels) and separate AES (up to eight AES channels), thereby maintaining lip-sync for dubbing. If frame synchronization is required, we recommend inputting the signal to be converted into the XRC-3901 module, and then feeding the output of the XRC-3901 into an existing or optional frame synchronizer locked to the internal reference. If the input signal is at the edge or lost, the XRC-3901 will pass the edge signal, and the existing or optional frame synchronizer will provide a clean output to the capture subsystem.

DTS Neural Surround™ DownMix
5.1 to Stereo
DTS Neural Surround™ DownMix can create stereo mixes from 5.1 mixes. This process is called LwRw watermarking and is compatible with previous versions of Dolby® ProLogic® II. Using stereo audio infrastructure, the stereo mix can be monitored, mixed, stored, edited, and played back. DTS Neural Surround™ DownMix can propagate 5.1 stereo through any stereo infrastructure. The principle behind this process is that both natural stereo and 5.1 content are two-dimensional data; they both contain width and depth spatial attributes. DownMix can represent the six separate audio source channels in the stereo downmix by transforming the source positions into pure intensity and coherence.
DTS Neural Surround™ UpMix
Stereo to 5.1
DTS Neural Surround™ UpMix can utilize all stereo signals and convert them into a 5.1 mix. Real stereo signals (LR) are processed to create an appealing stereo sound image. Matrix-encoded stereo signals (LtRt: Dolby® ProLogic®, Dolby® Prologic II®, SRS Circle Surround) are upmixed to form a 5.1 surround sound image. The previously downmixed DTS Neural Surround (LwRw) signal is restored to its original separate 5.1 mix.
UpMix renders all dual-channel audio sources (stereo, matrix-encoded stereo, Lt/Rt, or DTS Neural Surround™ content) into surround sound. DTS Neural Surround™ UpMix places individual elements within the surround field, creating unmatched image stability and granularity. This patented method accurately positions audio within its audible professional LEDE (Loudness End, Dynamic End) listening environment, thereby avoiding distortion during content acquisition.
DTS Neural Surround™ MultiMerge
5.1 DTV Production Solution
DTS Neural Surround™ MultiMerge is a unique process that can provide a 5.1 mix at any time, regardless of the audio signal input. Before the Dolby® Digital (AC-3) encoder, the output can seamlessly transition between mono, stereo (LR), matrix stereo (LtRt), watermark (LwRw), and true 5.1 mixes. By providing all-day surround broadcasts to viewers, DTS Neural Surround™ MultiMerge allows DTV broadcasters to smoothly transition from stereo to surround sound. By using the MultiMerge inline, the original 5.1 content remains unaffected during transmission within the broadcast equipment, while the original stereo content is processed into a 5.1 surround sound image, providing a coherent surround experience for the audience. DTS Neural Surround™, along with its patented stereo rendering method, accurately positions audio within its audible professional LEDE (Loudness End, Dynamic End) listening environment, thus avoiding distortion during content acquisition.
DTS Neural Loudness Control
Stereo and/or 5.1
DTS Neural Loudness Control meets the needs of broadcasters and network operators, allowing them to control perceived loudness levels within an ideal volume range. Unlike traditional volume management solutions, this innovative system utilizes DTS Neural Technologies' perceived loudness measurement tools to model and understand how the human ear perceives the loudness of audio content. This process involves many variables that can affect audio perception, including spectral and density differences, as well as temporal overlap. By studying the human auditory experience, DTS Neural Loudness Measurement can process stereo and multichannel audio with equal excellence.
