(29/11/2011) As a pioneer in portable video cellular solutions, LiveU has announced that after a detailed evaluation and review, it will be updating and expanding its global video uplink service for BFMTV, France's leading news channel, using the LU-60 device. BFMTV is a 24/7 news channel that has maintained a "live first" broadcasting philosophy for over two years, with more than 160 professional reporters around the world conducting timely interviews on major global events, such as the 2011 British royal wedding and the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Recently, French broadcasters used LiveU to livestream the Rugby World Cup held in New Zealand, allowing all French viewers to experience the atmosphere of cheering for their team as they entered the finals.
Thoms Jumel, head of production at BFMTV, stated: "Whether in France or other countries, we have used LiveU under all conditions, both as a primary broadcasting device and as a backup. LiveU has performed exceptionally well. We have deployed LiveU in cities and towns, as well as in helicopters, cars, motorcycles, and boats. We can also use LiveU to send video files, which allows for quick file transmission. LiveU is the first manufacturer to adopt cellular technology to enhance transmission efficiency; their technology is very advanced and at the forefront of the industry."

Jumel added: "For example, during the recent Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, we sought a solution that would bring us closer to the field. LiveU's technology not only greatly enhanced our mobility but also improved our response speed to news. We can quickly reach the venue and capture the shots we want in a closer manner."
Olivier Attali, Vice President of Sales at LiveU, said: "We are honored to be recognized by BFMTV, a highly competitive and professional news network on a global scale. Our cellular technology aims to provide professional live broadcast support for top media companies like BFMTV, reducing the complexity and cost of pre-broadcast preparations."
LiveU's flagship device, the LU-60, is the industry's first backpack that supports 3G/4G LTE technology, enabling 1080p HD video and low latency comparable to satellite transmission.
